My Generation's Korea....

This past Friday, October 6th, marked the Five Year Anniversary of Operation Enduring Freedom. It was difficult to tell because there was little publicity. Understandably, the Mark Foley scandal took precendence.

Allied forces are currently facing an uptick in Southeastern Afghanistan from Talibani "warriors". Most are believed to be coming from bases in the Waziristan providence of Pakistan. President Pervez Musharraf is pulling a Saudi by walking a fine line between giving information to the U.S. while leaving out just enough to keep from having his throat slit. "Good friends" aren't always good people, and stuff.

Thanks to the folks over at Milblogs and Miserable Donuts, I'm going to link information from Afghanistan every now and then. Brave men and women are serving in anonymity. Let's not forget them.

Hundreds of Talibani soldiers take eternal dirt nap defending a training school.

Japan approves extension for Naval Mission in Afghanistan.

Economy showing signs of growth, but still lacks stability.

I'll update as needed.

Never forget.
